The Challenge

A regional Porsche dealership needed to relocate their fragile and valuable equipment to a new location nearby. Items included showroom pieces, equipment from their parts department, a shipping container filled with car parts, tools and toolboxes, tires, mechanical machines, and more. Items were heavy, cumbersome and delicate, and had to be handled with the upmost care.

In addition, the car showroom remained open and operational until 7 pm which condensed the move time into just a few hours.

The Solution 

A specialty team of OMX team packers prepared the items for moving using plastic moving crates, dollies and palletized what items could be moved with a forklift. IT specialists disconnected and moved computer equipment from the shop and showroom IT, then reconnected to their new facility. All specialized equipment was wrapped meticulously, and valuable car parts were kept in the exact order needed. 

Results

OMX was able to pack everything in one day and completed the move and unpacking the next day. Everything went according to the prepared relocation plan without any unforeseen issues, and the new location was set up to Porsche’s standards.
