Type of Move

Medical Equipment Relocation

The Challenge

Catholic University recently built a new nursing school on campus and contacted OMX to assist in moving all their medical training and simulation equipment. The problem was that the old building only had a very small elevator that would not fit the equipment such as hospital grade electronic beds and computer-controlled mannequins. This high value, fragile electronic equipment would need special handling to get it to its new home. To make matters more challenging, the timeline was tight as the school had a simulation training event the day following the move.

The Solution

Hospital beds were moved carefully by standing them up vertically and rotating them to fit in the small elevator. This took precision, care and time to ensure no damage was caused during the move. Mannequin parts and other medical equipment like scales, walkers, wheelchairs, etc, were carefully packed by the OMX team of packers and moved safely to the new building.

Outcome

Management at the School of Nursing were incredibly satisfied with how the move went. All equipment and mannequins were moved without damage and on time, allowing them to hold their simulation event on time in their new space.

Testimonial

“OMX was very professional, efficient and quick. We had a great experience with the entire team and would recommend them to others. We will be using their services again.”
